Hi 2023, what are you going to bring me this year?
In 2022, I decided to change my website oer to a new webhost! It took me pretty much the entire year to work on getting the look just right. I also haven't really done much with it since I designed the new look. I meant to write some more blogs to keep you all updated on my writing progress, but I couldn't bring myself to write that I haven't really been writing.
I started writing a few stories in 2022. All three are going to be novels in the YA genre and two are going to be really hard stories on about real life traumas. Unfortunately, I ran out of mojo while writing and I was overcome with imposter syndrome. Am I really a great author? Do people really want to read these stories? I had to stop writing to get myself back into the creative writing mindset. I think this year I am ready to pick that back up.
So what have I been doing this whole time? I decided to start designing notebooks! You can see them on my books page. I've designed a total of three covers for notebooks and journals and they are sold exclusively on Amazon. It was a fun process to get into and I'm glad to have done it! I have hoped to design a few more but I am waiting to see how these three (actually six) sell first. If you're interested in either a dot grid journal or a lined notebook -- I got you!
Also, for another year, I've kept a tiny human alive! Tiny human just turned 2 and I can't believe it. While it's been a tough road trying to be both a writer and mom, I feel that I can finally see the light and be able to do this full-time writing thing again. As my tiny human grows, it's become easier to entertain them and while I can work on my own things. I hope this trend continues for us and I can finish my stories soon.
So what is going to happen this year? I'm not sure. I was thinking about starting a little shop on my website to sell my notebooks and books personally. But, I recently hit a roadblock and I'm working on the issues to make it happen. It might not be this year, but it will happen, eventually. In the meantime, I will be popping up at different craft fairs and selling my books and notebooks there! I sold four books during the winter sale and I couldn't have been more excited.
I also am looking forward to getting back to writing my novels. I feel my characters inside my head waiting for their chance to tell their stories!
Lastly, I want to continue doing my mommy blog on medium. I've got several new first time mom experiences to write about, I just need to find the time to do so! Please follow me on there to keep up with my mommy side of life.
Thanks so much for follow
ing along on my writing journey. I hope to be able to bring you more books soon.
Thanks for reading!
